My Journey Into Web Design

From Vision to URL: Choosing a Domain and Hosting

When I first set out to build a website for CamTech Premium Services, I knew I wanted something clean, modern, and user-friendly—but I had no idea how much I’d learn along the way. Designing a site from scratch is one thing; doing it without prior web design experience is another. From choosing a domain to navigating WordPress, the entire process became an unexpected but rewarding crash course in digital creation.

The Domain Dilemma: Finding the Right Name

The first hurdle was finding a domain. Naturally, I wanted something short, clear, and easy to remember. “CamTech.com” was long gone, and many of the alternatives were either taken or priced way too high. After some digging and brainstorming, I landed on www.camtechpremium.com name that felt right and still represented the quality of service I aim to deliver.

Diving into WordPress: Learning by Doing

With the domain and hosting locked in, I turned to WordPress as my platform. I watched a few tutorials to get my bearings, but I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner. So, I rolled up my sleeves and dove right in.

What I quickly realized is that there’s no single “correct” way to build a site. There are countless themes, plugins, and approaches—and they all have their pros and cons. I ended up pulling pieces from different sources: some advice from YouTube, some tips from forums, and a few plugins I discovered along the way that just made sense for my needs.

Progress Over Perfection: Building with Flexibility

Each step of the process was a learning opportunity—from figuring out how to properly format text and images, to making sure the site looked good on both desktops and mobile devices. There were frustrating moments, sure, but also a lot of small wins that made the effort worth it.

The Journey Continues: Growing Alongside the Website

Building this website has been more than just a project—it’s been a journey. While it’s now live and functioning, I see it as a living, evolving part of CamTech. As I continue learning, I’ll keep improving and updating the site to reflect that growth.

If you’re thinking about building your own site and feel overwhelmed, just start. Tinker. Break things. Fix them. And most of all—keep going. Like any skill, web design takes time, but every step forward brings new insight and confidence.
